Events and Rules
Event 1: Stone Press
Reps in 90s; choice of stones; any press at a higher weight trumps any number of presses at a lower weight
Novice: 45kg, 55kg, or 63kg
Beginner: 40kg, 45kg, or 50kg
Event 2: Walking Stones Duckwalk Medley
Duckwalk the heavier stone 10m, run back and duckwalk the 2nd stone 10m, then walk both stones back together 10m. Timed (2 min time limit)
Both classes: 55kg & 66kg
Event 3: Stone Putt
Any throwing style; 2 throws only
Novice: 12kg
Beginner: 10kg
Event 4: "Round the Mound" Husafell
Husafell to be walked around the mound max distance.
Novice: 90kg from keg
Beginner: 81kg from keg
Event 5: 4 Barrel Stone Load
Stones 10m from barrels. Timed.
Novice: 55, 63, 75, 85kg
Beginner: 45, 55, 63, 70kg
Which class should I enter?
- 1st Timers means just that - you've never participated in a stonelifting competition before: you may have competed in a beginners strongman or strongwoman competition, just not McGregor games
- Beginners means no podium at any competition before
- Novice means you can have competed before, but absolutely no podium finishes in novice or above - no age limitations
- Open is for anyone who has podiumed in a novice stone competition, however, any 1st timer, beginner, or novice can opt in to compete in Open (no age limit)
- Masters has a lower age limit of 40 on the day of the competition

General rules and information
- Kilts must be worn
- Competition tees are provided and must be worn for all events
- Strictly no tacky, tacky towels, stone sleeves with tacky, etc. Chalk only
Competition Location
All McGregor's competitions are held at Rhynd Fitness in Fife.
